  • The darkest shade on this map shows the counties with an asthma rate that is higher than the national average for Medicare beneficiaries.
  • Rates of asthma for Medicare patients vary widely between counties in Arkansas.
  • The highest county rate (6.9 percent) is about 3.5 times greater than the lowest county rate (1.9 percent).
  • As shown on the map, areas in the northeastern part of the state have the lowest diagnosed rates of asthma.
